Take character design worthy of Sid and Marty Krofft, a healthy dose of pop art, the best upcoming indie music out there, throw them all in a blender, and what comes out will be the super-psychedelic kids' show Yo Gabba Gabba. Each episode is full of fantastically simple music sung by the life-size monsters and animals (one of whom reminds us A LOT of Tim Biskup's Helper), great performances by indie bands like the Aquabats, the Aggrolites, and Tahiti 80, and fantastic cartoons by talented animators. The song below (click on the photo for the link) is animated by Bran Dougherty-Johnson with Music performed by Trembling Blue Stars. Let's do it -- break it down!
(Oh yeah, the kids like the show, too).
